Injection Ceftriaxone Sodium USP -3 GRAMS

           Ceftriaxone is a potent, third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used in veterinary medicine for its broad-spectrum activity against Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria. In poultry, it is typically reserved for severe, systemic infections where other treatments have failed.

Clinical Applications

Ceftriaxone is highly effective against several major avian pathogens, particularly those that have developed resistance to first-line antibiotics. Common uses include:

  • Colibacillosis: Severe systemic infections caused by E. coli.

  • Fowl Cholera: Infections caused by Pasteurella multocida.

  • Salmonellosis: Management of Salmonella species.

  • Infectious Coryza: Severe outbreaks of Avibacterium paragallinarum.

  • Standard Dosage 25 mg to 50 mg per kg of body weight.

  • RouteIntramuscular (IM) or Subcutaneous (SC) injection.

  • FrequencyOnce daily, typically for 3 to 5 days.
